How to drive motorcycles legally in China for foreigners?

As in China a International License, or License from any Country is not accepted, the Person need to hold a chinese Driver License.

There are two types of Driver License:

1. E license, this only allows you to drive all the solos(2 wheelers);

2. D license, this not only allows you to drive the solos, but also the Sidecars(3 wheels), which means you can drive all the bikes with D license.

There are 3 different situations for foreigners to get a ’ Chinese Driving License:

The 1st situation: You live and work in China, You got the driving license of your own country:

It is easier to get a Chinese Motorcycle Driving License if you already have a Motorbike driving license of your own country. Your driving license can be transferred into a Chinese one as long as you hold a residence Permit or Working Visa. If you are not quite sure how to handle the things, we can do the procedure for you, and the fees we charge is 2800RMB(all fees included), the time durance will be 15 days.

The 2nd situation: You live in China, You don’t have a driving license of your own country:

You will need to join a motorcycle driving class if you don’t have a license of your own country. And you can get one Chinese license after passing the exams. The time durance to get all the procedures done is 2 months. If you are very much familiar with China, you can also do it by yourself, by the way, the procedures are complex. If you don’t speak Chinese very well or don’t know how to proceed, we can also do it for you, and the fees we charge for this is 4800RMB(all fees included)

The 3rd situation: You only travel in China and want to drive motorcycle in China

In this situation, you are not able to apply for the motorcycle driving license by yourself, but within a Tour organised by "China Sidecar Tours" you get a Temporary License for the Time you stay in China, based on your Tourist Visa.
